Fate of Pak tour to Bangladesh to be out

Bangladesh Cricket Board has asked PCB to wait till Monday to find out the fate of their troubled tour to Dhaka for ODI series.

Some anxious moments awaits PCB now as the sources in the Pakistan Board have told PTI that they have been informed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that it was still in the process of getting clearance for the tour from its government.

"The BCB has informed that they held several meetings with government officials today and these will continue on tomorrow. They have said a final decision on the tour should be forthcoming in 24 hours," a PCB source said.

Pakistan team was due to leave for Bangladesh on March 7 to play five one-dayers and two Twenty20 matches, but just two days prior to their departure, the BCB postponed the tour on the advice of its government after the nation witnessed a mutiny by its armed forces.

However, since then the tour has been put on hold after the BCB failed to get clearance from its government.

"We don't know what the delay is but we are expecting the tour to commence from March 26 after which it would become impossible to have the series for different reasons," the PCB source said.

To make matters worse for the PCB, Cricket Australia has still not signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the forthcoming limited over series between the two countries in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from April 22.

Although the Pakistan cricket delegation has returned from Dubai where it met with CA officials to discuss and make preparations for the five ODI series, there was no word forthcoming from the PCB on why the MoU is yet to be signed.

The Australian officials apparently have reservations over the conditions of the new ground in Dubai Sports City which is expected to host the first two matches and the T20 match.
